Recently, Westby High School Senior, Kaston Compton, was sincerely thanked by the entire History Alive Project Board with a special rosemaled plate.

Kaston has served on the History Alive Project Board for the past school year where he was excellent source of information, especially on agenda items involving our community's teenagers, what was going on at Westby High School and advised Board members of those activities that would work, kid-wise!

Our Mission

The History Alive Project creates "out of the box" projects to discover and maintain the Westby area's history for community members of all ages.

Our Initiatives

One of our biggest initiatives is our school education program.  We have partnered with our local school district on teaching the history of our area in a very unique and challenging way.  Students earn grades for these classes.

Take Part

No place really becomes a community until it is wrapped in human memory: Family stories, celebrated traditions and every day life all contribute to this. No place is a community until it has awareness of its history. Our connections and commitment to one another are strengthened when we share stories and experiences.
