Education

Our Education efforts target a wide age group of our youth and students. Our historic teaching methods are very interactive. We want students and youth to be engaged and an active part of the historical learning experience of the Westby area and our Norwegian heritage.

Many people have asked if we have a copy of a book that was dedicated to Elaine Lund and written about Westby's early history. History Alive Project has decided to make a 3rd printing of this book.
If you wish to purchase this book, they on sale at Dregne's Scandinavian Gifts in Westby or from Dave Amundson (608-634-3034).
All proceeds will go to fund History Alive Project's upcoming fall activities.

School Education Classes
We work closely with the Westby School District on History Alive Project curriculum for students. They learn about history in a true "outside the box" way that is both interesting, engaging and rewarding.

Team Building
We feel that learning and appreciating the rich Norwegian history of our area is important for future generations.
Our youth should be engaged as groups, learning about history that affected and paved the course of where we are today. Students team together to study, learn and present important segments of our history.

Projects
We work closely with students on projects that interest them. It can be on a certain topic, a historical event, or the evolution of something over time that has impacted their every day lives.
We help them with resources and guide them throughout the project with the end results being something they learned more about and also proudly showcase it.
